Mike Morin is a lifelong conservationist who gained a deep appreciation for the natural world while growing up in Maine’s Penobscot River Valley, where he spent countless hours exploring the woods and waters around his home. Those early years set the stage for what has been a 20-year career in land conservation where he gained experience coordinating volunteers, developing community partnerships, and managing outdoor recreation on public lands.

Mike will be responsible for managing CLC’s volunteer stewardship program, member events, and business partner program, and will be the staff lead for CLC’s new responsibility of trail stewardship and maintenance of six popular hiking trails on Mount Chocorua, following last year’s merger of the Chocorua Mountain Club into CLC. He will also support CLC’s fundraising program and land stewardship work. “I’m excited to apply my diverse skills to my work at CLC,” Mike said, “and to build and maintain meaningful relationships with members, volunteers, and local organizations.” Mike cherishes days spent in the mountains and on the water, and taking in the sunset with his wife Amanda at their home in Glen, NH.

“We are grateful and excited that Mike is bringing his breadth of experience to Chocorua Lake Conservancy,” CLC Executive Director Alex Moot said. “Mike joins us at just the right time, when we have taken on the new responsibility of caring for the well-loved and well-frequented trails on Mount Chocorua, and as our volunteer and member base continues to grow. We’re looking forward to working with him!”
