Artist Byron Carr of Contoocook, NH, has generously donated to the CLC two beautiful, framed oil paintings of the Chocorua Lake Basin, with Mount Chocorua in the background. The first (16x20) will be on display and sale at the Art Works Summer Art Show, with proceeds to go to the CLC, and we will be auctioning the second (24x30) online.
The Art Works Summer Art Show, a long-standing Chocorua tradition, features the work of local artists and artists connected to the area. It’s always a gorgeous diversity of mediums and styles, inspiring and satisfying. The reception, co-hosted by Arts Council of Tamworth, is Friday, July 26, from 6-8PM, with music by Taylor Whiteside. Come meet the artists, visit with friends, and have a first chance to purchase Byron’s painting. The show continues on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 & 28, from 10AM-4PM each day.
Byron, born and raised in Contoocook, is an award-winning lifelong artist who has been showing his work since the early ‘90s. Many of Byron's paintings are done in the style of the Hudson River School. Three of his paintings are currently on display at the Jackson Historical Society. To see more of Byron’s work and learn more about him, please visit Wet Paint Tamworth and the Covered Bridge Gallery. He was inspired to donate these two paintings by his love of the Chocorua Lake Basin and his appreciation of the CLC’s work protecting and preserving it. Thank you, Byron, for your generosity!
