Mindfulness at the Grove

  • The Grove, Chocorua Lake (map)

New date on account of rain! Sunday, August 11, 8–9:15 AM.

In his book Beauty: The Invisible Embrace, philosopher-poet John O’Donohue has this to say (and you can imagine his gorgeous Irish lilt): “When the mind is festering with trouble or the heart torn, we can find healing among the silence of mountains or fields, or listen to the simple, steadying rhythm of waves. The slowness and stillness gradually takes us over. Our breathing deepens and our hearts calm and our hungers relent. When serenity is restored, new perspectives open to us and difficulty can begin to seem like an invitation to new growth.”

On Sunday, August 11 from 8–9:15 AM, join Chocorua Lake Conservancy for Mindfulness at the Grove, a mindfulness meditation and gratitude for nature practice with Christi Humphrey, certified mindfulness teacher, at the Grove at Chocorua Lake. Guided meditations will be offered along with conversation and camaraderie. Bring a folding chair, towel, or mat to sit on.

This program is free to CLC members, $10 suggested donation for non-members, and space is limited. Please register in advance above so that we can let you know of any changes to the schedule. Storm date will be Sunday, August 11.

Christi Humphrey, MDiv, is a spiritual director, retreat facilitator, and a colleague at the Bethany House of Prayer in Arlington, MA. She holds a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Center for Religious Development and is a certified Mindfulness Meditation teacher. For twenty years, Christi has accompanied others on their journey toward spiritual wellbeing. Christi lives in Sandwich, NH with her husband Jim.
