Fresh air! Free workout! Friends! Come spend a morning in a beautiful place stewarding land with us.
Please join Chocorua Lake Conservancy Stewardship Director Debra Marnich on Thursday, September 29, 9-11AM, for a Stewardship Morning at the Island on Chocorua Lake and at Moose Meadows, up the road on Route 16 across from the quilt shop. We’ll meet at the Island, right off of Rt. 16, to spread wood chips that help prevent erosion along the lake shore and protect tree and shrub roots in high use areas. When that work is done, we’ll head up to Moose Meadows to cut down saplings in the field in advance of mowing.
Bring work gloves and a shovel and/or long-handled clippers if you have them, water and a snack, and please wear sturdy, close-toed shoes. We will have some tools available if needed. Be prepared for bugs and ticks just in case. Feel free to come for all or some of the morning. Please register below so that we can let you know of any changes in the schedule.
