In 2003, the Chocorua Lake Conservancy adopted the two-mile stretch of Route 16 that starts at Heavenly Hill and runs north the length of the lake. CLC volunteers have been keeping that stretch of road clean ever since.
On Sunday, July 5, from 8:45-10:30AM, join the Chocorua Lake Conservancy for our annual 4th of July weekend “Adopt-a-Highway” Trash Pickup along Route 16. We’ll meet in the Grove by Chocorua Lake, near the Narrows Bridge at the end of Chocorua Lake Road, at 8:45, and we usually finish by 10 or 10:30. Please come with masks, gloves, good walking shoes, and please wear bright, preferably day-glo clothing, as because of Covid-19 we may be unable to borrow high-visibility vests at this time. Bring a bathing suit, too, if you want to go for a dip in the lake afterward! CLC Stewardship Director Lynne Flaccus and CLC Lake Patrol Officer Troy Emerson will provide trash bags. As with all our events at this time, we ask that you sign up in advance by leaving a message at 323-6252, or emailing lflaccus@chocorualake.org. We hope you can join us—more helpers means we all finish faster!
