Join Chocorua Lake Conservancy Stewardship Director Lynne Flaccus for a meandering walk on the CLC’s 150-acre Brown Lot. We’ll use a map, compass, and a mapping app to keep track of where we wander and explore, making discoveries as we go, and recording the plants and animals we see to be added to the property’s natural resource inventory. Knowing what’s happening on our properties helps us make informed stewardship and management decisions, especially as the land changes over time. The more ears and eyes, the better!
We won’t be following trails, so come prepared for a wandering exploration on moderate terrain. If you have a favorite mapping app you use on a device, feel free to bring it along and share. We’ll see what plants might be peeking through the leftover winter snow, spot and map invasive plants, look and listen for wildlife, and have fun exploring.
Meet at the Kiosk at the Island parking area on Chocorua Lake at 9AM. We’ll walk across Rt. 16 to the Brown Lot, check out the field and bird nesting boxes, and then head off into the woods. Questions: call the CLC office at 603-323-6252.
